Aisha is a member of the Performance and Resource Optimization in Networks Lab which is also known as the PROTON lab. In Greek, PROTON means "ranked first", indeed Aisha is the first in the ECE department at UNM to receive this prestigious scholarship.
As a member of the PROTON lab, Aisha, along with her colleagues, under the advisement of Dr. Eirini Eleni Tsiropoulou conduct research on cyber-physical social systems and wireless heterogeneous networks focusing on 5G/6G networks and resource management using game theory, optimization techniques, and reinforcement learning, alternative Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) services and novel localization techniques, demand response management, resilience and cybersecurity in smart grid networks etc.
Since joining PROTON lab in 2022, Aisha authored several papers on interesting topics such as Orchestration of Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces for Positioning, Navigation, and Timing, Digital Compute Continuum including Cloud, Fog, and Edge Computing, Next-Generation Information-Centric Networking etc. and published in top conferences in her research area including IEEE GLOBECOM, IEEE ICC, IEEE MILCOM, etc.
Dr. Tsiropoulou's pride for the PROTON Lab doesn't stop with Aisha. Aisha is only one of the many examples of Dr. Tsiropoulou's pride in the PROTON Lab. “I am really proud of the accomplishments of all the PROTON Lab students!”, said Dr. Tsiropoulou. The group as a whole established a sense of teamwork that culminated in a productive research atmosphere and great accomplishments.
