Application Requirements

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of New Mexico welcomes applications from students who have earned distinguished academic records and have the potential for developing excellent research abilities.

Below is the ECE Department admission requirements and procedures for application to our master’s and Ph.D. programs.

The following items must be included in the on-line application:

  • Resume/CV
  • Three (3) Letters of Recommendation
  • Statement of Purpose/Letter of Intent
  • Official test results must be sent directly from ETS to the University of New Mexico (code #4845)

Deadlines

APPLICATIONS DEADLINES (DO NOT APPLY FOR THE ONLINE PROGRAMS)
The M.Sc. in Computer Engineering (Online Only) and the M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering (Online Only) are not subject to any deadlines. For the online programs, you can apply at any time for the following semester. The following deadlines apply to the regular programs in Electrical and Computer Engineering (not online).
