Program Overview (Internet of Things)
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a collection of physical devices that contain embedded electronics, software, sensors and networking capabilities. These devices collect and exchange data on a massive scale; that is, on the scale of the internet with billions of connected devices.

Graduates will complete courses in foundational concepts related to computing, embedded systems, networking, and data science. Additional courses will build upon these foundations, in order to treat topics related to cloud computing, web applications, and distributed systems.
The Master of Science in Computer Engineering - Internet of Things (IoT) program was developed with industry input to provide graduates with the skills desired by the fast-growing computer industry. Students will learn how to develop the software and hardware systems that allow devices to collect and exchange data on a massive scale; that is, on the scale of the Internet with billions of connected devices. Students who successfully complete the curriculum will be prepared for entry into the computer industry or related fields of study such as autonomous and electric vehicles, smart grid, situational awareness for smart health, crowdsourcing-based services, and security for smart cities.
Program Overview (Space Systems Engineering)
UNM is pleased to offer a new Masters' online program in Space Systems Engineering, leading to an MS in Electrical Engineering (MSEE), beginning in Fall 2018. This program is one of the first master's level space systems engineering programs in the country. The Space Systems Engineering concentration was developed with input from the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Space Vehicles Directorate to provide graduates with the advanced skills to further their careers in the aerospace industry. All courses for the Space Systems Engineering Managed Online Program are offered in an 8-week format.

Students who successfully complete the curriculum will be prepared for master's level engineering positions at the Department of Defense, NASA, and private sector aerospace companies. Students will be prepared for space systems program career paths such as mission planning, project management, and spacecraft integration activities.
